The National Government announced the bidding for a key road corridor for weekend getaways from Buenos Aires City, as it will directly connect the airports of Ezeiza and Aeroparque with tourist destinations such as Cañuelas, Lobos, and Saladillo. The announcement, made by Minister of Economy Luis Caputo, confirms the launch of the bidding for the 'South – Atlantic – South Access' section, which covers a total of 1,325 kilometers. The key to this bidding is that it groups a complete corridor under a single private management, from the heart of the City to the interior of the province of Buenos Aires. The focus will be on the repair of Route 205. The road renewal project will comprehensively connect: Newbery Highway (connection to Aeroparque), Riccheri Highway (connection to Ezeiza Airport), Ezeiza-Cañuelas Highway, and National Route 205 (the 'getaway route'). The focus will be on the repair and modernization of National Route 205, a fundamental road that currently shows significant wear. This route is the central axis for rural and gastronomic tourism, directly connecting the Ezeiza-Cañuelas Highway with cities like Lobos and, further ahead, Saladillo. The bidding also includes National Route 3 and 206, completing a vital section for agricultural and livestock production (meat, milk) and tourism. According to Caputo, the objective is to 'replace a deficitary model with one that is transparent, competitive, and without Treasury subsidies,' seeking 'a more modern road infrastructure' managed by the private sector.
